| Description |
English: The Spotted Bush Snake is a non-venomous and harmless, very slender snake with a flat, distinct head and a long tail. The body is bright green to olive, usually with dark spots on the bars on the fore-body, becoming grey-bronze towards the rear. The head is green or blue-green.
They do not have fangs or venom glands. The adults do have quite a few sharp little teeth, but these teeth are seldom able to pierce human skin, but these snakes pose no danger to humans or pets. They feed on Geckos, Tree Frogs and Chameleons. Please note: If you are not sure of the snake species, please do not pick it up, rather take photos and ask a snake expert, so if it is a venomous species, a snake catcher can be called to relocate it. Snakes are purely defensive and when threatened, they will defend themselves. We really do not need to kill them. |
