Summary[edit]

Description
English: Young boys in the Deutsches Jungvolk in der Hitler Jugend, the separate section for boys aged 10 to 14 of the Hitler Youth organisation in Nazi Germany, as "KLV children". The evacuation of children in Germany during the World War II was designed to save children in Nazi Germany from the risks associated with the aerial bombing of cities, by moving them to areas thought to be less at risk. The German term used for this was Kinderlandverschickung (KLV), a short form of Verschickung der Kinder auf das Land ("relocation of children to the countryside"). Photo: Willy Hanisch, 1943.

While the Public Domain Mark is not intended to be used as a license, community consensus has found that when a copyright holder applies the PDM to their own work, they are declaring their work to be in the public domain.

The author died in 1945, so this work is in the public domain in its country of origin and other countries and areas where the copyright term is the author's life plus 75 years or fewer.

You must also include a United States public domain tag to indicate why this work is in the public domain in the United States. Note that a few countries have copyright terms longer than 75 years: Mexico has 100 years, Jamaica has 95 years, and Colombia has 80 years. This image may not be in the public domain in these countries, which moreover do not implement the rule of the shorter term.
Copyrighted in the U.S. This work may not be in the public domain in the United States because its U.S. copyright was restored by the URAA as it was still copyrighted in its source country (Germany) on the URAA date (1 January 1996). In most cases, it is copyrighted in the U.S. until 95 years after the year in which it was initially published (exceptions are works published after 1977; see Commons:Hirtle chart).
