The warmfingers aid in setting the cement and binding the film to thebacking. The celluloid cement is prepared by dissolvingdiscarded films cut up into small pieces in acetone and di-luting to the consistency of thin syrup by adding more 276 THE JOURNAL OF ROENTGENOLOGY acetone. Filter through cotton and add about one-tenthvolume of 98 percent alcohol to act as a retarder to its set-ting. The cement may be applied to the film corners by abit of wire passed through the cork of the containing bottle.The bottle should be kept well corked as the acetone is veryvolatile.
