Notes | Carnegy suggests this is the oil sketch; however, Angerer's photograph does not match this (the facial expression of the leftmost character, the shading of the stone below his right arm, and the position of the hand of the female on his left side). Those match the cover of the journal (which Carnegy says is the final) instead. As the photograph is of the oil sketch, Carnegy might have mixed up his photographs. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
