Description
Nederlands: De graven van veld A dateren uit de periode 1914-1927 en staan in evenwijdige en aaneengesloten rijen. De rechtop staande grafstenen zijn uitgevoerd in een hardsteensoort of in een betonmortel met netwapening, bij uitzondering in marmer. Zeer bijzonder is dat er een twintigtal houten graftekens op de begraafplaats behouden bleef. Deze eenvoudigste vorm van grafaanduiding die in vroeger tijden veelvuldig voor de armere bevolking werd toegepast is elders vrijwel verdwenen. De graftekens zijn houten planken die met hun punt als een spade in de grond zijn gestoken. Ze bevatten een in het hout gesneden tekst in het Hebreeuws (soms) of Nederlands (meestal). De houten graftekens dateren uit de periode 1915-1927. Ook het kinderveld bevat enkele houten graftekens.
