Summary[edit]
DescriptionJohn Smith's Grave - geograph.org.uk - 699929.jpg |
English: John Smith's Grave On Iona behind the little restored chapel to the south of the Abbey lies this simple memorial to John Smith, leader of the Labour party between 18th July 1992 and 12th May 1994 when he died of a heart attack aged just 55. He was succeeded by Tony Blair having initiated many of the modernizing policies on the Party which Blair continued. It is interesting to ponder how things might have panned out had he not died.
The inscription reads: JOHN SMITH SEPT 1938 - MAY 1994 An Honest Man's The Noblest Work of God |
