Summary[edit]

Description
English: A young man sleeps beneath a window, as Cupid, sitting on the ledge, prepares to shoot him with an arrow of love. The man rests on a pile of pillows set against the wall. He is covered from the waist down, but his feet are exposed, and his right arm is outstretched. He wears a garland. The ornate marble wall is topped with a pillar and curtains, while leaves and greenery intrude from outside. Illustration for Thomas Stanley's translation of Anacreon.
