Exhibition history Royal Academy summer exhibition, Burlington House, 1875 , cat. no.  227, as Tewkesbury Abbey: Queen Margaret carried prisoner to Edward after the battle of Tewkesbury.
Notes The painting was never sold or reproduced; it was exhibited by Gilbert in 1875 at the Royal Academy Exhibition, but remained in the possession of the Gilberts until 1903.
