Photo by Paula Ouder, courtesy Louisiana Sea Grant The Southeast Louisiana Regional Ice Hub was dedicated Aug. 23, 2006, in Chalmette, La., in a ceremony featuring Gov. Kathleen Blanco, representatives from the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board, Louisiana Sea Grant College Program, LSU AgCenter, Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation, and Shell Oil Company. Shell donated $500,000 to install three industrial ice machines to serve Louisiana fishermen affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
