Durant els dies de festa de La Pasqua la gent d'Alginet anava a berenar i jugar, a fer festa, a aquest indret. Els Arenals, situats gran part a la partida del Portell, entre la urbanització Ausiàs March -Carlet- i la urbanització de Los Lagos -Alginet-, estaven aleshores plens de gent. Queden actualmet a l'Arxiu Ismael Latorre Mendoza uns 2500 negatius fets per Ismael Latorre, 20 anys d'història documentada, des de la dècada dels 40 a la dels 60. S'han publicat fotografies d'aquest indret, per exemple, en:

There are two groups on the background doing a human tower (Muixeranga or Castell), and people in first term play some variant of Blind man's buff.
