Jay Rene is an American independent journalist and activist and co founder of Hip Hop Humanism and Prison Riot Radio.

English: Jay Rene is an independent journalist, activist and co-founder of Hip Hop Humanism and Prison Riot Radio.

Jay Rene born J. Rene Nash was born July, 5, 1981. She is originally from Wilmington Delaware.

She retired from the Army and soon became an independent journalist and co-founder of Hip Hop Humanism with Rap artist Dana Dane. This organization showcases positive Hip Hop artistry and creates grass root programs for children. www.hiphophumanism.com

Prison Riot Radio was created by herself, Kwame "Dutch" Teague", Professor C and Dana Dane and is a platform for incarcerated and formally incarcerated individuals to have their voices heard. They also create albums and audio books on the platform as well as hosts podcasts for those who are incarcerated.

She is a member of the NPPA and has written for State Vs Us Magazine (www.statevsusmag.com), The San Francisco Bay View News Paper, Prison Lives Matter, as well as outlets based in Canada.

She is a full-time humanitarian and identifies as a New Humanist. She has also published two documentaries to date called 12: The First State and 12: The First State Part 2. 12 is a series of documentaries that will travel from state to state. She has countless articles and writings to her credit from Hip Hop music, social justice and community development.
