English: Not many Hyundais in Japan, let alone taxi Hyundais! Also known as the Azera in the US/Canada.
Poor sales due to the size of their cars, simply too big for Japanese tastes (although I'd also assume some political tension was involved as well) forced Hyundai out of the JDM car market in 2009, nowadays the Korean megabrand only sells their Universe buses on the isle (and surprisingly enough they do pretty well, it's not uncommon to see them on Japanese roads alongside their nippon counterparts). Do apologize for the poor quality of this particular picture, I was just leaving Asakusa Station when I spotted it and I only had enough time to grab my phone and snap a picture before the stoplight turned green, especially in the pouring rain! May 2018. |
