Description

Real photo postcard [small format: 8.7 x 12.6 cm].

Bought from an eBay seller in Valdampierre, Picardie, France.

The message reads: "Bien chère Marraine. Je vous adresse l'Alep mes voeux de bonne santé et l'heureuse fête! Pour être tardifs ils n'en tout pas moins sinceres. Marius se joint à moi pour vous embrasser bien tendrement. Votre bien affectionné filleule, Jane."

[Approximate translation: Dearest Godmother. To Aleppo I send you my wishes for good health and a happy birthday! For being late, they are not at all less sincere. Marius joins me to kiss you tenderly. Your very affectionate goddaughter, Jane.]

Aleppo was a French Mandate from 1923-1946.
