| Description |
English: Jan Sundström's "Hall Stones" (Hallestenar), memorial to Olof Palme, Sudersand, Farö, Gotland, Sweden. The Palme family vacationed at Farö during thirty years. During his summers at Farö, the Farö Social Democratic Association arranged meetings at Sudersand where Olof Palme gave speeches. It is the association who has honored Palme with the memorial, created in 1996, near the Sudersand. The place consists of a sculpture group of limestone hallar. Hallar are oval stones with holes that fishermen used as sinkers in fishing twine. The memorial sculptor and architect is Jan Sundström. The memorial is located to the right at the Sudersands Holiday Village. Svenska: Jan Sundströms Hallestenar, minnesmärke över Olof Palme, Sudersand, Fårö, Gotland. Palme med familj sommarsemestrade på Fårö i trettio år. Under sina somrar på Fårö arrangerade Fårö socialdemokratiska förening träffar vid Sudersand där Olof Palme talade. Det är föreningen som hedrat Palme med minnesplatsen, som tillkom 1996, nära Sudersand. Platsen består av en skulpturgrupp av "hallar" i kalksten. Hallar är ovala stenar med hål som fiskare använde som sänken i fiskegarn. Minnesplatsens skulptör och arkitekt är Jan Sundström. Minnesplatsen ligger alldeles vid Sudersands semesterby. |
