Description
English: w:James Gillespie Birney (b. 4 February 1792 – 25 November 1857) was an abolitionist, politician and jurist born in Danville, Kentucky.Here he is at the w:British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society in 1840. Note this is an extract from a much larger painting.
He is the person on the right. On the left is John Beaumont (1788-1862) another abolitionist.
