Français : Quinzième planche gravée par Théodore de Bry d'après les dessins de Le Moyne qui représente la scalpation, le séchage du scalp et son port comme ornement (1591).
Au premier plan à gauche, trois Indiens ont scalpé un ennemi mort; l'un découpe les muscles de son bras gauche, un deuxième frappe sa jambe gauche, tandis qu'un troisième introduit une flèche dans son anus. Au second plan à droite, quatre Indiens travaillent auprès d'un feu pour faire sécher le scalp; un quatrième brandit un scalp. |
