Summary[edit]

Description
English: One of the many emerging strategies in employee retention and development is a systematic Career Planning. Career planning involves planning and managing employee’s career path. Many companies are now allowing their talents to plan and manage their own career path within the organization. Employees more often than not have qualifications and experiences suited to other career areas within the organization. The next question is whether they’ve shown interest to venture into other career areas may it be horizontally or vertically. Some individuals are happy and contented with their comfort zones and don’t want to try and see the beauty of what’s inside the other door. The JPA-9 Quadrant Potential and Interest Grid show how to categorize individuals based on their potential and occupational interest towards other potential career areas within the organization. The goal is to match individual’s current potential and occupational interest to other career path within the company. Ideal candidate for any career planning program must fall in the upper right quadrant of the box. It is believed that individuals with the highest potential and interest in trying and open for other career path are best candidate for any career development program.
