Deutsch: Übergang zum Röhrentunnel Richtung Markt, das Blocksignal liegt einige Meter dahinter.

Durch die Wirkung der PZB in Verbindung mit dem restriktiven Modus hemmt das Passieren eines Signals in Stellung Ks 2 den Betrieb sehr. Zugfolgen unter drei Minuten sind mit diesen Voraussetzungen im Leipziger Stadttunnel praktisch nicht fahrbar, zumal bei den Triebwagen der Reihe 442 viel Zeit zwischen Halt und Türöffnung vergeht. Die punktförmige Zugbeeinflussung in Dreifrequenzresonanzbauart ist nicht auf Stadtschnellbahnen mit dichtem Takt, sondern auf Fernbahnverhältnisse mit langen und schweren Zügen ausgelegt.

Im vergleichbaren Tunnel in Frankfurt (Main) wurden statt der 500-Hz-Magnete gesteuerte Geschwindigkeitsprüfabschnitte eingebaut. Damit erhöhte sich zwar der Aufwand, doch ohne den restriktiven Modus der PZB 90, der nach einem Halt nach einer 500-Hz-Beeinflussung nur eine Geschwindigkeit von 20 km/h zulässt, wird der Betrieb spürbar beschleunigt.
