Summary[edit]

Description
English: Historical marker memorializing the 1897 lynching of an African-American man named Issac Barrett within the Bus and Horse-drawn Carriage loop behind the historic Saint Augustine Visitor's information Center and parking garage in Saint Augustine, Florida. According to this marker, Barrett worked for a white employer who he had a pay dispute with, then was falsely accused of assaulting his wife, only to face a mob of angry stupid white people who caught him and killed him in another part of St. Johns County, before he could've ever had the chance to defend himself in a trial. This image was modified in an attempt to reduce sunspots.
