Description

View of the island of the U.S. Navy aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CV-3), taken at the Puget Sound Navy Yard, Washington (USA), 14 May 1942. Note the newly installed Mark 37 gun directors. CXAM radar was installed on the forward end of the stack, SC-1 on the aft end.

Note the battleship in the right background which is most probably USS Nevada (BB-38).
