Description An announcer narrates to a crowd of nearly 1,000 Nawa citizens as an Afghan national police officer stands guard during a Islamic New Year celebration at Nawa's open-air bazaar March 21. The event was the first time in years the holiday has been publicly celebrated in Nawa since Marines and Afghan forces flushed the Taliban from the area last July.
