Esta obra es uno de los diecisiete retratos de cuerpo entero que Federico de Madrazo pinto de la reina Isabel II, existiendo diversas réplicas y copias del mismo en el Banco de España, en el Instituto de España y en el Museo del Ejército, entre otros.
