English: Iron Age earthwork, Beausale. Just under a kilometre southeast of Beausale on private land by Kite's Nest Lane. Probably a hill fort. A number of stories attach to two cannonballs that were found when the timber-framed house at Camphill Farm 1769618 was moved from a position nearer the road. http://timetrail.warwickshire.gov.uk/detail.aspx?monuid=WA2655 Pevsner mentions the site (see Wroxall): a single bank and ditch enclosing an area of about 5½ acres, the rampart considerably reduced by ploughing. |
