Title
Iron Age brooch: copper alloy Colchester one-piece
Description
English: Iron Age brooch: Cast copper alloy Colchester one-piece, c.55mm long when straight, 13mm wide (broken) and 13m deep at the head. The brooch is in poor condition with a patchy green-brown patina, and weighs 3.36 grams. The pin is no longer extant, but part of the spring remains, showing with a ridge running its length, but no decoration is visible (perhaps simply an effect of its condition of preservation). Only a small fragment of he catchplate (closest to the bow) is intact, and it is not possible to determine whether it was perforated.
