Summary[edit]

Description
English: Three belts around the minaret contain inscriptions. The name of the contributor (governor of Bukhara - Arslankhan) and the date of construction (1127 AD) can still be read. A number of legends surround this 46.5 meter minaret. One of the affectionate nick names is "the tower of death". Criminals were executed by being thrown out from the top until the early 1900's.
