English: Ings Lane. Ings Lane / Brompton Ings Road connects Brompton By Sawdon (ahead) with High Street, Sherburn (A64).
This photograph is looking in a northerly direction along Ings Lane from near to the village boundary. From here southward (behind the viewpoint) the lane is called Brompton Ings Road. The sign on the left, which is a reference to Sir George Cayley, reads:
At this point the long defunct Scarborough to Helmsley railway (closed 1951) crossed the lane. The station was called 430810 so as not to confuse it with other 'Bromptons.'
