Summary[edit]

Description
English: Cuban 5 centavos indicium of Christopher Columbus printed on white paper from a stamped envelope. After the establishment of the Republic of Cuba in 1902, the envelope dies were transferred to the Cuban government which produced similar envelopes without the US watermark which was on all 1899 envelopes. 50,000 of these stamped envelopes were printed on white paper. They were designed by the U.S. Department of Engraving and Printing and manufactured by Plimpton and Morgan Co. of Hartford, Connecticut.
