English: Title: In spotlight before Senate Civil Liberties Committee. Washington, D.C. Jan. 14. Testifying before the LaFollette Civil Liberties Committee today, Ernest D. Lemay, Assistant to the President of Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railroad Co., recalled when prompted by Senator Lafollette that Pinkerton detectives had frequently called on the company but that their services were employed. Senator attempted to get from Lemay the information on Blaine Owens, a Communist who allegedly was driven out of Birmingham. The Senator then read a letter from E.B.
