The UK central government wants to prevent councils from imposing higher energy standards on new home constructions. This is despite the fact that under-insulated homes are key driver of fuel poverty and emit huge amounts of unnecessary carbon. By weakening energy standards, they make sustainability a luxury for the rich. This is a situation that nobody can afford! |
