Description
English: Illustration, Foxe's Book of Martyrs, woodcut (verso letterpress), by John Foxe. Illustration shows King Henry VIII on his throne, with Thomas Cranmer to his left, presenting the King with a Bible, while Pope Clement VII is prostrated at his feet. Standing behind Cranmer is Thomas Cromwell. John Fisher supports the Pope's head; Cardinal Pole supports the Pope's back. Looking on in dismay at the scene are a group of monks.
