Fotografia Ignacego Płażewskiego, na której znajdują się prof. Mikołaj Łaźniewski, dziekan Wydziału Matematyki, Fizyki i Chemii Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego (w latach 1952-1958) oraz prof. Eugeniusz Michalski, kierownik zespołu Katedr Chemicznych na Uniwersytecie Łódzkim.

Prof. Łaźniewski w 1948 r. został pierwszym kierownikiem Katedry Chemii Fizycznej na Uniwersytecie Łódzkim. Jego specjalnością badawczą była mikrokalorymetria. Profesor Eugeniusz Michalski studiował w Instytucie w Moskwie i przed II wojną światową pracował na Uniwersytecie Stefana Batorego w Wilnie (skrót USB). Później po wojnie pracował już w Łodzi na Wydziale Farmaceutycznym, a od 1949 roku był szefem Zakładu Chemii Nieorganicznej.
