Summary[edit]
DescriptionIce bridge (16238985672).jpg | Senior Airmen Tyler Dray and Jerry Mitchell use an ice auger while constructing an ice bridge in Fairbanks, Alaska. The ice bridge will be used throughout the winter months to connect civilization to the Blair Lakes Bomb Range that is 33 miles away through the wilderness. The bridge must be constructed every other year to provide access to the $20 million range complex used to train pilots from around the world during Red Flag-Alaska exercises. Dray is a range maintenance structures journeyman and Mitchell is a heavy equipment operator with the 354th Civil Engineer Squadron on Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska.
