| Description | We have seen scores of Chinese eateries and several supermarkets so far, I was just beginning to wonder how come we haven't seen any store selling traditional Chinese medicine yet. So here it is, The Herb Depot, a store selling ethnic herbs and other dried foods. None of the stores, restaurants included, seem to see any good patronage and most were almost devoid of customers. The younger generation of ethnic Chinese have chosen to move to other areas of the city and to seek their fortunes elsewhere, leading to much downplaying of this once vibrant district. (Toronto, Canada, Nov.2015) |
