Description
Italiano: Milano: bassorilievo con la leggendaria "scrofa medio-lanuta" (mezzo-pelosa) di cinghiale, animale che avrebbe dato il nome al luogo su cui sarebbe sorta la città, derivato da una (errata) interpretazione popolare del significato del nome antico di "Mediolanum", come se volesse dire "metà-lanosa" anziché "in mezzo alla pianura". English: Milan, relief with the legendary "half-wool boar", deriving from a wrong popular interpretation of the ancient name of Milan, "Mediolanum", as meaning "half-wool" (<lana = wool) in place of "in the middle of the plane" (< lanum).
