Batu Pirus Urat atau Urat Emas yang asli tidak mudah tergores dan tidak panas. Selain itu Batu Pirus Urat Emas yang asli berwarna biru karena terdapat kandungan mineral logam tembaga yang tinggi, semakin banyak kandungan tembaga dalam Batu Pirus Urat Emas akan semakin biru. Batu Pirus Urat Emas yang asli warna kulit luar sampai seluruh dagingnya berwarna biru namun Batu Pirus Urat Emas Palsu hanya berwarna bagian luarnya saja.

Batu pirus dengan guratan urat memang sudah sangat terkenal, dari beberapa pecinta batu, menyebutnya dengan Pirus urat emas atau ada juga yang menyebutnya dengan sebutan Pirus serat daun dan Kura-kura.
