Egyszerreváratlanul megjelent elÅtte a városi hatóság hajója is, az Åvitorlása mellé állt s a polgármester latin beszéddel üdvözölteÅt. A fejedelem szintén latinul válaszolt, de tulajdonképpen nemtartotta helyénvalónak a megtiszteltetést, a mely egyszerűkirándulás közben érte. 336 MÃRKI SÃNDOR de kereskedése s ipara miatt Angliának már akkor egyik leg-élénkebb helye volt, a melyet érdemes lett volna bÅvebbenszemügyre venni. Azonban az ünnepies fogadtatás után a feje-delem, a kedvezÅ szelet felhasználva, a nép lelkes tüntetéseközt, visszatért a Szent-György hajóra.13 A hulliek már csak azért is szÃ-vesen látták a fejedelmet, mertAnna királyné parancsa és Bolingbroke miniszter rendelkezéseértelmében nekik kellett hajót adniok továbbutazására s Ã-gyvalami szolgálatot tehettek hÃ-rneves vendégöknek. Ãgy szólvánkarácsonyi ajándékul küldtek eléje egy teljesen fölszerelt, deárúkkal csak szÃ-nleg megrakott kereskedelmi hajót, melyrekÃ-séretével karácsony másodnapján át is szállott.
