Description
English: Hunting scene with the inscription “ex vicen[nalibus] f[e]l[iciter] veli” refering to the 20th year of reign of Antoninus Pius, in 138 CE, a theta nigrum (Θ) symbol meaning the death of the animal and the letter V meaning “vicit” (“[the hunter] vainquished”). Mosaic, Roman artwork, 2nd century CE. Found in the Praetorium Camp in Rome. Exhibited in the Colosseum of Rome.
