Summary[edit]
DescriptionHumvee Push 130823-A-CJ249-379.jpg |
English: A team of soldiers representing Comanche Troop, 4th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, push a Humvee 50 yards uphill as one of the 12 challenges during the squadron’s Pershing Cup competition, Aug. 23, 2013. Nearly 500 Cavalry men and women competed in the competition which was designed to be both mentally stimulating and physically challenging. “We wanted to build something that required the teams to think,” said 1st Sgt. William Schneider, senior noncommissioned officer of Comanche Troop. “They’re under stress, they have to plan a route in a short period of time and they have to think about the route that will get them the most points.”
Other events, including a rope climb and five-gallon water can relay, were spread out across Fort Carson in distances of up to five miles. The squadron currently plans to hold the event once a quarter.
