Description

I call this a Hummingbird Moth but I don't know the proper name for it. It flys like a hummerbird but is a moth. It does not have the long beak of a hummingbird but uses a tube to suck nectar out of the flowers. I count myself fortunate to have captured this photo of it feeding on this butterfly bush. On the full size photo you can see the nectar coming through the feeding tube. Photographer: Dennis Burlingham Location: Coloma Michigan
