Summary[edit]

Description
English: Housing Estate on Site of Powick Mental Hospital. The Worcestershire County Asylum opened here in 1852. Edward Elgar was appointed bandmaster in 1878. It was famous for using LSD on patients in the 1960s. I had Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) here for severe clinical depression in 1974. It closed in 1996.
