Honors 33 Airmen. Aero Club of America Awards Medals to Entente Fliers. Paris, France; July 1, 1918 (Correspondence of The Associated Press) The Aero Club of America, through its foreign service committee, has awarded the medal of the organization to thirty-three aviators, representing the United States, Prance, Great Britain, Italy, and Belgium. The medal is of gold elaborately engraved, and almost three inches wide. The aviators receiving it are:
United States — Major Raoul Lufberry, killed; L. Norman Barclay, killed; Julian C. Biddle, killed; Andrew C. Campbell, killed; Oliver M. Chadwick, killed; Victor Chapman, killed; Edmund C. Genet, killed; Ronald Hoskier, killed; James McConnel, killed; Douglas M. Monagle, killed; Norman Prince, killed; Kiffen Y. Rockwell, killed; Corporal S. Walcott, killed, and Major William Thaw.
France — Captain Guynemer, killed; Lieutenant Dorme, killed; Adjutant Lenoir, killed; Lieutenant Chaput, killed; Lieutenant Nungesser, Lieutenant Garros, Lieutenant Fonck, Captain Herteaux, Lieutenant Marlon, Captain Duellin, Captain Pinsard, and Sub-Lieutenant Guerin.
Great Britain — Captain Albert Ball, killed; Captain Fletcher Philip Fullard, and Major William A. Bishop.
Italy — Lieutenant Baracca, killed: Sub-Lieutenant Olivari, and Major Piccio.
Belgium — Lieutenant Thieffry.
Notes[edit]
Sub-Lieutenant Olivari appears to be Luigi Olivari, who had died on October 13, 1917.
