Description
English: Honor Oak Park: plaque under the Oak of Honor This plaque stands beneath the Oak of Honor on One Tree Hill (see 1331538). It states:

THIS OAK TREE

was planted by Councillor H. R. Taylor ex mayor, and Councillor John Nisbet, Chairman of the Roads and Public Gardens Committee of the Camberwell Borough Council, (who were Chairman and Hon Secretary respectively of the Enclosure of Honor Oak Hill Protest Committee) to commemorate the opening of this hill to the public on Monday 7th August 1905, and to perpetuate the original oak tree that stood near this spot, and under which Queen Elizabeth is said to have rested on Mayday 1602, and which tree was ever after known as

"THE OAK OF HONOR"
