| Description | Das Homerton College mit seiner Great Hall in Cambridge. Die Große Halle wurde 1889 erbaut und dient den Studenten zur Einnahme ihres Mittagslunches, gleichfalls ist sie auch ein Ort für formale Abendveranstaltungen. Die angrenzende Küche überschreitet seit längerer Zeit ihre Kapazitätsgrenzen. Da eine räumliche Küchenerweiterung im Hinblick auf die historische Gebäudestruktur nicht möglich ist, wird seit 2017 der Neubau einer modernen Großen Halle in unmittelbarer Nähe geplant. Was mit der alten Großen Halle geschehen soll kann bisherigen öffentlichen Verlautbarungen nicht entnommen werden. Das Gemälde aus dem Jahre 1860 in der Bildmitte ist ein bemerkenswertes Kunstwerk im Stil der Pre-Raphaeliten von Jane Benham Hay mit dem Titel 'The Florentine Procession'.
