Description
English: This image shows the "Old Mill" in Holzhau in the Eastern Ore Mountains. The mill was built 1805.
Deutsch: Blick auf die "Alte Mühle" in Holzhau im Osterzgebirge. Die Mühle wurde 1805 als Getreidemühle mit Bäckerei erbaut. 1900 wurde eine Lichtmaschine an das Mühlrad angeschlossen, damit war die Mühle das erste Haus in Holzhau mit elektrischem Strom. 1915 wurde neben der Mahlmühle eine Holzschneidemühle in Betrieb genommen, die bis etwa 1960 arbeitete. Nachdem im Ort 1934 eine neue Bäckerei öffnete, wurde der Backbetrieb eingestellt.Das Haus wurde danach als Wohnhaus genutzt. Mitte der 1970er Jahre erfolgte die Umnutzung zum Betriebsferienheim. Heute wird das Haus als Gaststätte und Pension genutzt.
