English: A Royal Party on a Hunt and Falconry: Rajasthani painting Painting by unknown artist. Jodhpur, year c.1830 Paintings of royal hunts are popular genre in court paintings in India. This painting depicts Maharaja Man Singh hawking with two female companions. He is holding a falcon in his hand. It is illustrative of the life of Jodhpur's royal women who often accompanied Maharajas on hunting expeditions. According to an inscription on the reverse, this painting was received as a gift by Maharaja Man Singh and entered the royal painting store in Vikram Samvat 1887, Jeth Sudi (May-June, 1830 AD). Painting at Mehrangarh Fort collection, Jodhpur, Rajasthan. This is a cropped out image from a full painting.
