Summary[edit]

Description
English: Built in 1902, this Renaissance Revival-style house was designed by Claude and Starck for Adolph H. Kayser, and later became known as the Yahara House. The house is clad in red brick with a rusticated stone base, a bent hipped roof with wide overhanging eaves, vaulted roof dormers with arched transom windows and large trim surrounds including volutes and doric pilasters, one-over-one and two-over-two double-hung windows, two curved one-story bay windows flanking the front entrance, an oriel window with doric pilasters over the front door, a front door on a vestibule with beveled sides, ionic engaged fluted columns, and sidelights, decorative stone headers on the first floor windows, quoins at the corners on the first floor, a front porch with beveled sides, square columns, and a low-slope roof, a two-story bay window on the side facade with ionic engaged columns and a cornice on the first floor, a double-decker rear porch with a cornice and square columns that is partially enclosed, and a rear one-story red brick garage with the original doors and a hipped roof. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, and is a contributing structure in the Fourth Lake Ridge Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.
