Summary[edit]

Description
English: Twin lamp post lantern. One of the approximately 100 historic cast-iron street lampposts which were designated as landmarks by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1997. This ornamental post is located on the northeast corner of Fifth Avenue and East 23rd Street in Madison Square, across from the Flatiron Building, in the Flatiron District of Manhattan, New York City. The red building behind the lamppost is the former Western Union Telegraph Building (1884) at 186 Fifth Avenue. (Source: Guide to NYC Landmarks (4th ed.))
