Summary[edit]

Description
English: High Street Originally known as a Third Street, the new town of Winchelsea was planned on a grid system reminiscent of American towns with similarly numbered street names back in 1286. The New Inn's board shows a picture of that original plan. Whilst the pub is 17th century the building opposite, Court Hall a 15th century building originally a private house but from 1538 onwards the town hall. Today it is the town's museum.
