Description
English: Fort Mifflin,a hidden gem of American history! Site of the largest naval bombardment of the Revolutionary War.Where,for almost 6 weeks in the fall of 1777,ten cannon held off 228 cannon to give Gen. Washington time to relocate his troops from Philadelphia to their winter encampment at Valley Forge.

Located just southeast of Philadelphia Pennsylvania,bordering Philadelphia International Airport along the historic Deleware River. A must see for anyone who loves American history! 1915 War Department declares F.M a National Historic monument.

1970 Department of the Interior names F.M.a National Historic Landmark.
