Cristal hexagonal compact monoatomique (type Mg, Be, Sc, Te, Co, Zn, Y, Zr, Tc, Ru, Gd, Tb, Py, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu, Hf, Re, Os, Tl). Groupe d'espace : P63/mmc (194), notation Strukturbericht : A3.

On peut voir la structure comme deux sous-réseaux héxagonaux simples décalés d'un vecteur [1/2, 1/3, 1/3]. Il s'agit en fait d'une structure hexagonale simple dont le motif est constitué de deux atomes.

Monoatomic hexagonal close packed crystal (e.g. Mg, Be, Sc, Te, Co, Zn, Y, Zr, Tc, Ru, Gd, Tb, Py, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu, Hf, Re, Os, Tl). Space group: P63/mmc (194), Strukturbericht notation: A3

The structure can be seen as two simple hexagonal sublattices shifted by a vector [1/2, 1/3, 1/3]. It is in fact a simple hexagonal structure with a diatomic moto.
